How can I reduce size of the output video?

The size and quality of the output video are determined by the bitrate value: the higher the bitrate, the better the quality and the larger the video file size. Optimal Bitrate (for .avi file) is 800 kbps.

If you want to reduce movie file size, you need to decrease its bitrate:

  • Click the 'Settings' button next to the 'Convert' to list.
  • Select the 'Custom' option under Bitrate type. Then specify the bitrate in the Bitrate (kbps) box, click OK to confirm the changes, and close the settings window.

You can change the file size using special 'Quality\size' slider:

  • Click the estimated size value of the output video in the Output column of the file list. This will open the size adjustment window.
  • Drag the slider to adjust the output file size and click Apply when you're satisfied with the size and bitrate.

Note that the file size is an approximation, so that the actual size of the converted video may differ slightly from the estimated value. You’ll need to do this for each video individually.
